Carp Solutions team scoops out an adult carp from our specialized box nets.

We use a technique during the summer and fall months that is very effective at removing adult carp.  One of carp’s favorite foods is corn.  We train the fish in a lake to come to baited nets we call box nets.  By replacing the bait everyday, the carp continue to feed in the same location every night.  Eventually, we determine that there are enough carp coming every night and we spring the trap on fish feeding on the corn.  We then corral the fish and scoop them out.  We routinely catch over one hundred fish with as many as 500 adults in a single trap in lakes with high densities.  More interestingly, our traps specifically target carp because only carp are drawn to the corn, making these traps nearly 100% selective for carp.
